Independent Learning at CCCS 6th Form
One of the key areas of development which we encourage all our Sixth Form students to foster from the time which they join us is the art of successful independent study.
This is a vital skill which becomes necessary as they begin their KS5 journey with us and also continues to become an intrinsic part of their lives once they leave us to move on to undergraduate study or the world of employment.
We recognise that, prior to beginning A level courses, the vast majority of students will have had very little exposure to independent study and for this reason we have worked hard to put in place a programme, which spans the duration of their two-year course, to them assist them in becoming successful independent learners.
The students who go on to achieve the best outcomes during and beyond their A Levels, both in terms of academic success and also confidence, motivation and readiness to face the next chapter, are those who continue to engage with the outstanding opportunities which this school has to offer. We believe our independent study support is an essential part of this offering.
